Welcome to BCHCAW
Bwindi Clean Habitat for Communities and Wildlife (BCHCAW) is a non-profit organization based in Buhoma Town Council, Kanungu District, near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Founded in 2022 by Mugyenyi Isaiah, the organization addresses sanitation challenges that threaten both local communities and endangered Mountain Gorillas.
We are committed to creating sustainable solutions that enhance the quality of life for communities while protecting the rich biodiversity of Bwindi. Our activities include community sensitization on proper waste management practices, tree planting campaigns, clean-up drives, and promoting eco-friendly alternatives to reduce environmental degradation.
Through partnerships with local stakeholders, youth groups, and conservation organizations, Bwindi Clean Habitat empowers communities to become active participants in safeguarding their environment. Our approach integrates environmental education, economic empowerment, and community involvement to ensure a cleaner, greener, and healthier habitat for both people and wildlife.
