Recycling of Plastics

BCHCAW is committed to protecting our environment, our communities, and the wildlife that depends on healthy ecosystems. One of the biggest environmental challenges we face today is plastic waste.

Support our Work

Impact

Plastic does not rot like food or plants. When it is thrown into the environment, it blocks drainage, pollutes soil and water, harms animals, and destroys the beauty of our communities. In areas near forests and wildlife habitats, plastic waste can be especially dangerous to animals that may eat it or get trapped in it. That is why we promote recycling plastics into compound pavers.

Instead of burning plastics or dumping them in rivers and forests, we collect waste plastics and recycle them into strong, durable pavers used for compounds, walkways, schools, and public spaces. This approach turns waste into a useful product.
